Asuncion, IP.- This Friday, Carlos Torraz took office as the new director of the Regional Hospital of the Social Security Institute of Ciudad del Este, replacing Osvaldo Palacios.
According to the new head of the Regional Hospital, the short, medium and long term objective is to make the hospital work. “Here we have enough staff, we also have the professional quality that is needed for Alto Paraná, we are also aware of the shortcomings that IPS has, but compared to other hospitals we have a good number and quality of professionals,” he said.
He added that he intends to achieve zero corruption in the health center. “I am here so that this works and so that the day the new pavilion is opened, this works like a Swiss watch that works by itself. We have to be firm. We are here to work. There has to be love for the institution.”
The Regional Hospital has a daily flow of between 1,500 and 2,200 patients per day, due to its strategic location in Alto Paraná. It has a clinical and bacteriological analysis laboratory, a pharmacy and an emergency service.
Specialties include internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology-obstetrics, urology, cardiology, general surgery, ophthalmology, pulmonology, diabetology, endocrinology and dentistry.
