new dates announced in February 2023?

SNCF STRIKE. After the mobilization of January 31, the inter-union called for two new days of mobilization, February 7 and 11. Two days of SNCF strike had already been announced on February 7 and 8.

[Mis à jour le 31 janvier 2023 à 22h25] While the inter-union, which brings together eight confederations (CFDT, CGT, FO, CFE-CGC, CFTC, Unsa, Solidaires and FSU) as part of the mobilization once morest the pension reform, called on Tuesday, January 31, at the start evening, with two new strike days, Tuesday February 7 and Saturday February 11, some rail users are already worried regarding seeing their departure on vacation complicated by the SNCF strike next week. Saturday, February 11, zones A and B will indeed be in school holidays. Many holidaymakers will therefore be in the stations. For the time being, no information concerning the possible extent of the SCNF strike that day is yet known.

The date of February 7 was chosen in conjunction with certain initiatives taken by different branches of the CGT, on February 7 and 8, including CGT-Cheminots. In fact, we can say that only the date of February 11 is really new because the CGT-Cheminots and SUD-Rail had already announced, on January 24, two new strike days on the 7 and February 8. The unions have also proposed a renewable strike “from mid-February” at the SCNF in the event that the government persists in its reform project.

When is the next SNCF strike once morest the pension reform?

The CGT-Cheminots and SUD-Rail unions have warned that a renewal of the strike was already envisaged on mardi 7 and Wednesday 8 February 2023in order to “raise the balance of power”, either during School vacation of zone A which fall this Saturday February 4th and just before the February vacation departures for zone B on Saturday February 11th!

“Sometimes it is better not to have your train to go on vacation, but to have the possibility of retiring at 62, or even some 60, rather than having your train and finally being forced to work until 64. years, which the French do not want and the French are intelligent, they do not fall into the panel of the division”, had announced to BFM TV the SUD-Rail union representative Fabien Villedieu to the question of considering extending the strike during the winter holidays.

Are we heading towards an indefinite strike at the SNCF?

Are we regarding to relive December 2019? Remember, the SNCF and the RATP had, at the time, launched an indefinite strike once morest… the pension reform. “We will decide according to the extent of the mobilization”, warned Didier Mathis of Unsa-Ferroviaire on BFMTV. If for the time being, an indefinite strike does not yet seem to be on the agenda, some unions have warned that the option might be considered.
