Among the 5,400 preliminary positive cases, the Public Health Laboratory of the Center for Health Protection has received more than 4,000 samples. Most of the samples were sent yesterday (14th), and about 650 samples sent the day before (13th) have not been re-examined. The Centre for Health Protection has increased its manpower and working hours, and has decided to conduct the test by the Hospital Authority. No need to submit it to the Centre for Health Protection for review.
Zhang Zhujun pointed out that in the past, about 500 to 1,000 samples were sent by the Hospital Authority to the Centre for Health Protection every day for review. As for the more than 4,000 preliminary positive samples that arrived at the CHP yesterday, Zhang Zhujun expects to complete the re-examination tonight.
Zhang Zhujun also said that the samples in charge of the private laboratory still have to be reviewed by the Centre for Health Protection to confirm the case, but if the number of cases continues to rise to tens of thousands, the authorities will reconsider whether to adjust the arrangement.
