A new vaccine reminder campaign once morest Covid-19 begins this Thursday, April 27. It concerns a specific audience. We take stock of how this campaign is organized and who is targeted.

A new vaccination campaign once morest Covid-19, but which does not concern everyone. “Immune protection decreases more rapidly over time in certain categories of people, exposing them more to the risk of developing a severe form of Covid-19”, notes the Directorate General of Health on Tuesday April 25 in a press release.

Who is concerned ?

Thus this vaccination campaign which opens this Thursday, April 27, will last until June 16. It therefore concerns:

  • People aged 80 and over
  • Immunocompromised people
  • Residents of nursing homes and USLDs, regardless of their age
  • People at very high risk of severe form according to each individual medical situation and within the framework of a decision shared with the healthcare team.

What vaccines are recommended?

“For this booster dose, it is recommended to preferentially use bivalent vaccines adapted to Omicron, regardless of the vaccine previously administered. For people under the age of 30, Comirnaty® vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech are recommended” , indicates the DGS in its press release.

The condition for receiving this dose is that the last injection or the last Covid infection dates back at least 6 months.

For people who are not on the list drawn up by the ministry (above), the booster dose is no longer recommended. On the other hand “if a person is not in the target and wishes to receive a reminder, he will be able to benefit from it for free”, recalls the document.
