THE FILM Superman will appear on the big screen once more in 2025. Most recently, James Gunn as director, through his social media posts, showed off a new Superman costume.
Director James Gunn posted a photo taken on set to X’s social media revealing David Corenswet’s character. The caption read, “Get Ready. Superman 7.11.25.”
The photo features actor David Corenswet, who plays the Man of Steel, wearing a dark blue suit with the iconic S-like logo on the chest, red boots and a red cape.
The film is a reboot of the classic DC Comics character, but plot details have not been released. The long-awaited reboot, titled Superman, will see Correnswet play his first big role in Hollywood as a Kryptonian defender of truth and justice.
The Superman film also stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as the villain Lex Luthor.
Most fans commented on Gunn’s post regarding the clothes David Corenswet was wearing. Some fans are celebrating the return of Superman’s red pants following not appearing in Henry Cavill’s 2013 film Man of Steel.

“Very reminiscent of a New 52 suit with the high collar and embellishments but nice to see you in the classic red trousers,” commented a fan.
But this new style also received a lot of praise from other fans. “You & the costume department did an amazing job, so excited!” wrote another fan.
Plus, some say they like it because it looks like real clothes and isn’t too tight. Others loved the dirty look and many fans praised James Gunn for bringing back the famous red panties. (Z-2)
