Wiener Neustadt (OTS) – The MedAustron Products & Services Division takes an important step on the way to internationalization: a memorandum of understanding was signed with a long-standing supplier partner, which forms the basis for the realization of therapy accelerator systems on the Chinese market.
Thanks to the construction and operation of the particle accelerator facility in Wiener Neustadt, MedAustron experts have extensive know-how that the Products & Services Division would like to contribute more to similar projects worldwide. In this context, a memorandum of understanding has now been signed with long-standing partner Kelin Technology Development, a supplier of electromagnets for such accelerator systems: this is intended to promote the acquisition of large-scale projects for particle therapy systems on the Chinese market.
“The memorandum of understanding is the first milestone for us to be successful in China and to be able to implement planned particle therapy systems. We are convinced that our overall package of state-of-the-art technology, paired with the know-how in planning, commissioning, ongoing operation and maintenance of such complex systems, offers many advantages,” explain the two responsible managing directors Ludwig Gold and Gerald Höllinger.
MedAustron can rely on its many years of experience from the clinical operation of the accelerator system for the ion therapy and research center as well as on the successful technical implementation of new systems for international customers. In addition, MedAustron is also a partner for the servicing of particle therapy systems in the international environment. The entire range of services extends from planning to the installation and commissioning of new systems.
The highly qualified experts at MedAustron rely on the latest standards and norms and, with their own technology division, are also a recognized partner for innovations and development projects. Many employees in the technical area can draw on their high-quality training at CERN (Switzerland), among others.
