New confirmed cases are on the decline, but the highest since the ‘579 severe cases’ re-infestation

The number of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Korea fell again below 100,000 and entered a decline. On the other hand, the number of severe cases of severe cases was counted at 579, the largest number since the re-infestation, maintaining the level of 500 for the fourth day.

Yesterday (26th), there were 95,604 new confirmed cases of Corona 19 in one day, down by more than 30,000 from last week.

As of Saturday’s announcement, it fell below 100,000 for the first time in four weeks since the 30th of last month.

Quarantine authorities are evaluating that the epidemic has turned to a decreasing trend since 180,000 confirmed cases a day on the 17th, and this trend is expected to continue next week.

The growth has slowed, but the problem is that the number of severe cases and deaths is steadily rising.

The number of severe cases reached 579, an increase of four from the previous day, the highest since the re-infestation for two days in a row, reaching 500 for the fourth day.

The death toll stood at 86, an increase of five from the previous day.

95% of the deaths were people aged 60 years or older.

The quarantine authorities are planning to raise the prescription rate for prescription drugs for the elderly, which is currently 20%, to 50% so that those in their 60s and over, who account for 25% of all confirmed cases, do not worsen.
