After long negotiations between Emmanuel Macron and Elisabeth Borne, the Elysée announced Thursday followingnoon the new composition of the government team. First expected on Wednesday, then mentioned for Thursday morning, this reshuffle had been hovering over the presidential camp for weeks. It finally took place this Thursday followingnoon. Here are the main changes:
Gabriel Attal, hitherto Minister in charge of Public Accounts, is appointed Minister of National Education, replacing Pap Ndiaye, who therefore leaves the government. Renaissance MP Thomas Cazenave will be appointed Minister of Public Accounts, replacing Gabriel Attal. Mr. Cazenave, elected in Gironde last year, is an early walker and loyal to Emmanuel Macron, whom he has known for more than 15 years. Aurélien Rousseau, former chief of staff of Elisabeth Borne at Matignon, is appointed Minister of Health to replace François Braun. The president of the Renaissance group in the Assembly, Aurore Bergé, replaces Jean-Christophe Combe at the head of the Ministry of Solidarity. Coming from the ranks of the right, Aurore Bergé, 36, imposed herself in the macronie during her election as deputy in Yvelines in 2017. The Secretary of State in charge of the Social and Solidarity Economy, Marlène Schiappa, pinned for her management of the Marianne Fund, will leave the government.
