Somewhere in Germany there is a Ford dealership where cars from the late 1980s and 1990s sit under a layer of dust, the seats still have protective plastic on them, and the odometer shows less than 10 km. This car dealership has a very unusual and sad story.

About two years ago, the Auto Retro team found some photos online. They showed an old Ford dealership in Germany full of cars more than 30 years old, but no one knew where it was.

They later discovered that the photos were taken in 2010, but no one might say whether the cars were still there. The Auto Retro team tracked down the site and traveled from the UK to Germany to see what was left of the site. They were surprised to see that everything was the same as in the photographs from 13 years ago.

This Ford dealership closed in the mid-1980s with over 300 vehicles in inventory. The owner of the car dealership died in 1994. A year later, his family, which owns all of the dealership buildings, sold most of the cars. Those that remained were moved to the exhibition hall, which turned into a monument to the owner.

The widow kept everything in good condition, renovated the interior and did everything she might to keep the cars in order. For a while, she even received visitors, until they began stealing parts from the cars displayed in the showroom. From that moment on, she closed the doors to visitors, and people might only see them from the outside.

Outside the window you can see an abandoned warehouse of brand new Fords from the 1990s. So, here you can see the green Sierra, which is equipped with a single driver-side mirror, since the passenger-side mirror was optional. There’s also a Sierra station wagon on the showroom floor. Next to him is a Fiesta. Another Sierra, red and powered by a 1.6-liter engine, sits next to the window.

Despite the fact that the cars have been there since the 1990s, there is almost no dust on their bodies. It’s obvious that it hasn’t been cleaned up in a while since we’re dealing with an abandoned dealership. The cars still have protective film on their badges, and the tires are still flat following all these years. And everyone has protective films on their seats.

The former owner’s widow is in a nursing home, and the family doesn’t care much for the former dealership. Nobody knows what will happen to this place. Let’s hope Ford Europe does something regarding these treasures and gives them a place in the brand’s museum.
