In Surat, Soratia first became involved in his father’s business. But the thought of starting something of his own first got him into the pharmaceutical business. He did this with his cousin when he was in college.

But in 2014 he left his company and started a company called Dolphin e-Commerce. He was then 24 years old. Many different products were prepared in the portal. Home and kitchen appliances, treadmill and gym bicycle for sale. Here he has the audacity to compete with the big platforms like Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal.

Soratia is taking a big risk in 2017. He is stepping into the field of plumbing accessories where foreign brands dominate the arena. It started with the establishment of another company, Dolphy India Pvt.

The best hotels in India have always preferred foreign brands. This was to ensure quality. This interest continued in products used in the washroom and in products ranging from electric kettles to hair dryers.

But the products of foreign brands were expensive and not immediately available in the market when hotels needed them. It took up to four months for such products to be imported and available. Soratia recognizes this as an opportunity. The second company was started with the realization that the entry of an Indian brand into the sector with a quality product would open the door to austerity.

Dolphin products

The range of products proves that Audi is trying to walk ahead of time. Hygiene products manufactured by the company include automated washrooms, sensor taps, automatic hand sanitizer dispensers, and ULV fogger sanitizing machines. Parts of the products are imported from the UK and Hong Kong to ensure premium quality. They are then assembled in India.

Successful decision

The company has achieved growth of 80 to 120 per cent year-on-year during the current financial year.

The company had a turnover of Rs 96 crore in the last financial year. 55 crore during the same period this year. The company had a total turnover of Rs 151 crore. Despite constant challenges from foreign brands, Dolphic was able to create space in its own market. . Dealers who demanded free credit and more lending time were initially challenged. However, the fact that it got a business of Rs 17 crore in its first year gave it confidence. The company currently has a long list of more than 200 products
