New biosimulator for UNAJ medical students

The university received the first high-fidelity biosimulator for the creation of the SIMUNAJ clinical simulation center where students from the Institute of Health Sciences will be trained.

The Arturo Jaureche University (UNAJ) received the first high-fidelity biosimulator for the creation of the SIMUNAJ clinical simulation center where students from the Institute of Health Sciences will be trained.

With this new equipment, one of the most advanced in this technology and the second in Latin America, the students of Medicine, Kinesiology and Physiatry, Nursing, Organization and Assistance of Operating Rooms, and Technician in Health Emergencies and Disasters They will be able to access practices on models that simulate anatomical parts and that provide textures and resistance similar to those of real human parts.

José Luis De Echave, Head of the Simulation Center of the High Complexity Hospital El Cruce and director of SIMUNAJ, pointed out that clinical simulation is a “revolutionary pedagogical method” because it allows the design of scenarios and training, before having contact with the patient.

“It creates a safe environment, both for the patient because we do not harm them, and for the students who know that they come to learn and are not afraid. You work with the error, so as not to repeat it and not to do it with the patient”, she expressed.

Given that it is a high-fidelity manikin for advanced life support, training of simulation technicians, teachers, and the installation of the areas required for its use is necessary for its start-up (it works with a Gessel camera).
