electric car Hyundai Ioniq 5 debuted only a year ago, and the company has already announced the first upgrade. The changes can be counted on the fingers of one hand, and the most important improvement has touched the Long Range version. Traction battery capacity increased from 72.6 kWh to 77.4 kWh. Passport mileage per charge has not yet been published, but for the longest-range rear-wheel drive version, it should increase from the current 485 km on the WLTP cycle to regarding 500 km. The range will also include the basic modification with a 58-kilowatt battery.

Also Ioniq 5 has got an improved system of active thermoregulation of the battery. Now electronics can preventively change the efficiency of the liquid cooling system, for example, before charging, but only if the path to the charging station is paved using the on-board navigator. Options include adaptive dampers and black bumper inserts, although there are no images of cars with this appearance yet.

Finally, the Ioniq 5 can be ordered with cameras instead of rear-view mirrors. The side cameras and screens on the doors were originally on the “five”, but were offered only in South Korea, and now they can be ordered in other markets. But the central screen instead of a saloon mirror was introduced for the first time: the image is broadcast to it from a separate camera under the spoiler visor on the fifth door.

Upgraded Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric vehicles with new options will go on sale in the second half of the year. Now prices in Europe start at 41,900 euros, and in the summer Ioniq 5 should appear and in the Russian market.
