On April 5, the Valais Council of State approved the directive specifying the terms of application of the ban on for tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, vaporettes, legal cannabis and other smoking products. As a reminder, this ban results from the cantonal health law, in force since January 1, 2021.
In detail, merchants in the canton no longer have the right to display logos of tobacco product brands or communicate promotional offers linked to these products. This ban, which applies to all places accessible to minors, aims “to prevent the entry into consumption of young people”, specifies the public health service.
