A Samsung held the event Unpacked this Wednesday (17) to present the Galaxy S24 line to the public. In this sense, the models bring some interesting new features, one of which is the possibility of displaying part of the cell phone’s wallpaper with the feature Always On Display.
However, this is one of the features that should remain exclusive to the manufacturer’s new smartphones, as reported by the portal SamMobile. In other words, it is possible that the Galaxy S23 line does not have this function, even following receiving the update for the One UI 6.1new version of the company’s interface.
The reason for this is because the screens of the previous generation of devices are not as efficient as their successors. That is, the new Galaxy S24 comes with an energy saving setting that erases practically the entire background, leaving only the person in focus when using the feature.
In general, a function like this would mean more battery drain. However, this adjustment can mean that the devices do not use as much energy as imagined, in addition to the fact that the panels are newer and, in turn, more economical in this regard, according to what was disclosed by Samsung itself.
On the other hand, all variants of the Galaxy S24 line have this same configuration, which may please those who are interested in one of the new models, but have some type of fear regarding the battery. Despite the information being from a reliable source, as the website says, Samsung has not officially confirmed that the feature will not be present on the S23.
So, there is still hope that predecessors can receive this functionality in the future. Finally, check out the other details of the South Korean Unpacked event.
