A relief worker and two security sources said that a third convoy of aid trucks entered the Rafah crossing from Egypt on Monday, heading to the besieged Gaza Strip.
Aid deliveries began through the crossing on Saturday following disputes over the procedures for inspecting those trucks and bombing on the Palestinian side of the crossing, which caused relief supplies to remain stuck in Egypt.
Our correspondent reported that the Egyptian Rafah crossing authorities sent this morning the third batch of humanitarian aid in the amount of 20 trucks, bringing the total number of trucks that have arrived in the Gaza Strip so far to 55 trucks.
According to informed sources, the trucks were directed to the Al-Auja commercial crossing for inspection before continuing their journey to the Palestinian Rafah crossing gate.
The trucks carry medicines, medical supplies, and baby formula to meet the emergency needs of Gaza residents.
A Sky News Arabia correspondent learned that the Egyptian authorities re-closed the internal gate of the Egyptian Rafah crossing, facing the Palestinian crossing, with concrete barriers.
He pointed out that the trucks’ route now extends through the Al-Auja commercial crossing in central Sinai and then back to the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing.
