New agricultural projects launched in the province of Boulemane – Today Morocco

Mohammed Sadiki, Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests inquired this Friday regarding the agricultural dynamics of the province of Boulemane.

The Minister indeed made a field visit to the province during which he proceeded to the launch of agricultural development projects within the framework of the provincial agricultural plan of the Generation Green strategy as well as the signing of solidarity project agreements. Visit to agricultural development projects

At the level of the Serghina territorial commune, the Minister took note of the progress of the Provincial Agricultural Plan of the Generation Green strategy.

Endowed with an envelope of 2.8 MDH, this plan foresees by 2030 the social coverage of 14,000 farmers and the agricultural insurance of 15,000 Ha of field crops and fruit plantations. It will contribute to the emergence of a new generation of young agricultural entrepreneurs, notably through the creation of 50 cooperatives and 70 service companies for the benefit of young beneficiaries. With regard to support mechanisms for the new generation of solidarity agriculture, they concern 21 projects involving the planting of 4,530 ha of olive trees and aromatic and medicinal plants for the benefit of 4,000 beneficiaries. In addition, the provincial offer in terms of development of collective land amounts to 7,500 Ha mobilized for the benefit of young rural people.

The Minister paid a visit to the perimeter of the almond tree plantation. The project for the conversion of cereals into almond trees at the level of the rural commune of Serghina covers an area of ​​200Ha. With an investment of nearly 4.2 million dirhams, its main objective is to improve the income of farmers through a sector more suited to the edapho-climatic conditions of the area.

The Minister also visited a unit for processing saffron flowers into organic saffron pistils. This project concerns the aggregation of 112 saffron producers around the recovery unit on an area of ​​15 Ha, under the municipalities of Serghina, Enjil and Almis.

Visit of a refrigeration unit and signing of solidarity project agreements

At the level of the territorial municipality of Talzemt, the Minister visited an apple refrigeration unit, carried out within the framework of the Green Morocco Plan strategy. With a total cost of 5.9 MDH, this unit is part of the apple development program. It covers an area of ​​3000 m2 and has a storage capacity of 1200 T. It benefits 285 beneficiaries.

The Minister presided over the signing of solidarity agriculture project agreements within the framework of the Generation Green strategy. These are two projects for the diversification of production systems, one in Tazemt and the other in Ait Lmane, which aim to increase agricultural production and the integration of young people and women from the rural world into the socio-economic dynamics of the territory. They cover planting, construction and equipment, the development of beekeeping and support for beneficiaries.

The Talzemt project concerns the planting of an area of ​​250 Ha of almond trees, the hydro-agricultural development over 10 km. Worth nearly 19.9 million dirhams, it benefits 450 beneficiaries, including 45 young people and 30 women. The Ait Lmane project concerns the planting of an area of ​​250 Ha of almond trees, the hydro-agricultural development over 6 km, the surfacing and development of tracks over 10 km. With an overall cost of nearly 6.8 million dirhams, it benefits 163 beneficiaries, including 40 young people and 73 women.

Development of the red meat sector, modernization of the livestock sector

At the level of the territorial commune of Missour, the Minister took note of the state of progress of the cattle souk which is in the completion phase as well as the state of progress of the construction of the slaughterhouses of Missour. These projects are part of the development of the red meat sector and the modernization of the livestock sector.

The construction of the cattle souk and the slaughterhouse was planned as part of the Pillar II projects of the Green Morocco Plan. The cattle souk covers an area of ​​19,500 m2 and the slaughterhouse over an area of ​​5,000 m2. The overall cost of these two projects is estimated at nearly 18.3 MDH.

On this occasion, the Minister presided over the signing ceremony of the agreement relating to the realization of the 2nd tranche of upgrading of the cattle souk concluded between the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, the Prefecture of Boulmane and the municipality of Missour.

Launch of the program to reduce the impact of the rainfall deficit at the level of the Province

The Minister took note of the progress of the Program to reduce the impact of the rainfall deficit at the level of the Province of Boulemane and launched the exceptional program for the 2022-2023 campaign at the level of the province.

It is under the 1st tranche, the distribution of 72,000 quintals of subsidized barley and 1,300 quintals of compound feed.

As part of this program, under the 2021-2022 campaign, 91,949 quintals of subsidized barley were distributed for the benefit of 17,530 beneficiaries, 1,350 quintals of compound feed were distributed for the benefit of 856 beneficiaries, in addition to the acquisition of 4 tank trucks and the construction of two water points for livestock watering. of livestock watering carried out in Sidi Boutayeb.

It should be noted that the program to reduce the impact of the rainfall deficit has several axes, relating to the distribution of subsidized barley and subsidized compound feed, animal health, livestock watering, the development of small and medium irrigated perimeters and the development of rangelands.
