The Italian airline already has four different Airbus models of the latest generation in its fleet. Now, for the first time, an A321 Neo carries the design of ITA Airways.
Airbus A220-300, A320 Neo, A330-900, A350-900 – all of these latest generation Airbus aircraft models are already part of Ita Airways’ fleet. What’s still missing: A321 Neo.
On October 26th, the first A321 Neo for the Italian airline rolled out of the Airbus paint shop in Hamburg. The machine is named following the swimmer Massimiliano Rosolino, Olympic champion in the 200 meter individual medley in Sydney in 2000. The aircraft is expected to join the fleet at the end of the year. It currently still bears the test flight registration D-AVYX.
Aircraft gets three classes
The A321 Neo has the serial number 11561 and is an A321 LR, so it has additional tanks and can fly further. It will be equipped with Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class.
