Almost 800,000 doses of the vaccine directed once morest the omicron variants BA.4 and BA.5 have already arrived in Austria. Only this vaccine should be administered for the third and fourth vaccinations.

So now they are here, the bivalent vaccines from Biontech-Pfizer. Bivalent means that they are also directed once morest the original variant.

Earlier than expected, the first 752,000 doses of the vaccine were delivered to Austria on Tuesday following it was approved by the European Medicines Agency last week – also much earlier than expected EMA was approved.

From Friday they will be distributed to the federal states. As of next week, almost only these vaccines should be used. What can they do that the previous ones mightn’t?
