Neves Bendinha Hospital needs a nutritionist – news

Despite having more than 400 employees, including 43 doctors, 178 nurses and 103 DTT, the director of the specialized General Hospital Neves Bendinha, commonly known as “Hospital dos Queimados”, Dadi Bucusso Netemo, talks regarding the need to have a nutritionist, since burn victims have specific foods that speed up the healing process

In a recent interview given to the newspaper OPAÍS, Dadi Bucusso Netemo, director of that hospital unit, revealed, without giving figures, that the budget allocated to the hospital allows it to guarantee restoration services, a benefit that is maintained by the trust that the health governing body, in Angola, and the Central Government relies on the transparent management of the “Hospital dos Queimados”. Still, despite having more than 400 employees, including 43 doctors, 178 nurses and 103 DTT, in addition to 37 from hospital support, as well as 62 from R.

Overall, the director regretted the fact that they still did not have a nutritionist. “We don’t have nutritionists. If they give us a nutritionist, even better. We have 423 employees and we limit ourselves to guiding the nutrition of burn patients. We have made a point of recommending everything that is scientifically proven,” he said. One of the main recommendations has been the consumption of eggs, which, according to Dadi Bucusso Netemo, due to the nutritional richness that this product has, should be consumed daily by the adult patient, two eggs, while children should do so in half that proportion. “The egg is highly recommended for our patients, as it is rich in collagen – a fundamental protein for the health and beauty of the skin”, declared the manager.

The general director of “Hospital dos Queimados”, who said he had obtained this scientific guarantee, firstly, from one of the medical teams deployed at the institution he directs, highlighted that egg white is rich in collagen, which is why it is also on the list of ingredients from those who perform aesthetic treatments for the face and body. “In short, it is the skin that is at stake, when the question is the recommended use of eggs and it is the layer of the skin that burns the most”, highlighted Dadi Bucusso Netemo, for whom, apart from those who are anemic, others can also eat a normal diet.

On the occasion, Dadi Bucusso Netemo took the opportunity to refer to the taboo, according to which raw eggs stick to wounds resulting from burns, which he demystified, having argued that it is a thought that cannot leave the mouth for action. Finally, the director of the Specialized General Hospital Neves Bendinha, put fruits on the diet list for burn patients, highlighting bananas and oranges, which, according to him, have appropriate vitamins to support tissues. – from the inmates of a burn.

Product shortage

If on one hand there is the recommendation that burn patients should regularly eat eggs and fruit, on the other hand there is the cost of this product. Currently, the egg is even sold for 150 kwanzas, in informal stores and markets. Therefore, many families praise the fact that the Specialized General Hospital Neves Bendinha has the capacity to distribute, on a daily basis, adequate meals to its hospitalized patients, because, according to what some relatives of burn patients have made clear, these, in themselves, are not would be able to provide the aforementioned food, which is extremely necessary to overcome the condition of those suffering from this type of disease.
