“Let’s do… motor rehabilitation in muscular dystrophies!” It is the course coordinated by the Medical-Scientific Commission of the Italian Union for the Fight against Muscular Dystrophies Uildm which, after being proposed in Pordenone and Platamona (Sassari), arrives in Turin.
The course is aimed at physiotherapists, occupational therapists, Tnpee – neuro and psychomotor therapists for developmental age, medical surgeon (physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, child neuropsychiatry, neurophysiopathology) with the aim of providing these professionals with information and techniques to best manage rehabilitation when the patient lives with muscular dystrophy. The day is divided into two parts: in the morning the theoretical part, in the afternoon instead a practical one, divided into groups, which will deal in particular with the management of myotendinous retractions, physical exercise, and activity and participation.

The aim in fact is to succeed in increasingly tighten relations with local territorieswho are the first to know the needs not only of patients but also of the professionals who work there. With these training courses we also intend to promote the dissemination of the Indications for the management and rehabilitation of patients with neuromuscular dystrophiestwo documents drawn up by Uiuld which aim to provide recommendations on the neuromotor and respiratory rehabilitation management of muscular dystrophies” – they explain Elena Carraro and Cristina Sancricca, scientific directors of the course and members of the Uildm medical-scientific commission.
