Neurological Conferences 2023: Discover the Latest Advances and Challenges in Neurology at this Scientific Meeting in Puerto Rico

From next Friday, August 25 to Sunday, August 27, the scientific meeting with the most relevant in the field of neurology will take place.

The Puerto Rican Academy of Neurology will carry out the “Neurological Conferences 2023”, an event of medical relevance that will allow professionals in the health, doctors and specialists are aware of the main advances and challenges in the field of neurology.

Under the motto “Neurology through the years”, the meeting will take place from August 25 to 27, bringing together neurologists, doctors primary care, neurologists pediatricians and professionals in internal medicine of Puerto Rico.

The sessions will take place at the following times:

August 25: 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

August 26: 8:00 am to 2:30 pm

August 27: 8:00 am to 1:00 pm

On the first day of the convention, the presentation of cases of residents in neurologyproviding an invaluable opportunity to share enriching experiences and knowledge among professionals.

Continuous learning for adult and pediatric neurologists

On Saturday, the sessions will be divided into parallel sections, one for neurologists adults and the other neurologists pediatric.

For professionals in neurology in adults, topics of vital importance such as multiple sclerosis, emerging therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, encephalitis and a palliative approach to progressive neurological diseases, among other crucial aspects, will be addressed.

The course for neurology Pediatrics, also scheduled for Saturday, will address critical topics such as the role of genetics in epilepsy, managing irritability in children with autism spectrum disorder, childhood stroke, and the complexities of cerebral palsy.

Relevant themes of the convention

The 2023 Neurological Conference Sunday program includes relevant conferences for both sections, such as:

Migraine: Traditional approaches versus new paradigms.

Traumatic Brain Injury: Manifestations, Biomarkers, and Treatment.

Transition in the management and care of ADHD: Pediatric and adult.

Initiative of Puerto Rico for Alzheimer’s disease.

The transgender era and its impact on neurology.

It is worth mentioning that the Southern Medical Academy grants this educational activity a maximum of 12.00 credits in Category I towards the American Medical Association Physician Recognition Award (AMA-PRA1).

The Puerto Rican Academy of Neurology reported that “this journey has been planned and implemented following the essential areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), in collaboration with the South American Medical Academy Puerto Ricothe Puerto Rican Academy of Neurology and Advanced Medical Education Consultants”.
