This year the market town of Neumarkt an der Ybbs is celebrating the first recorded mention of its name 800 years ago and a market survey 450 years ago. In a traditional autumn happy hour, Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner and Federal Minister Gerhard Karner celebrated the highlights of the anniversary together on Saturday. As part of the anniversary parade, many visitors were able to enjoy historical groups, a parade of vintage cars, bands from the area, the Cook’s Band and the honorary formation of the Matre Ambrenner Rifle Company which fired a gun salute.

“This festival also represents the unity that has made Neumarkt an der Ibbs a modern and confident market town,” said the governor, citing the renovation and expansion of fire stations, schools and kindergartens in recent years. Or build new achievements and a police station and buy a fire truck. “All this shapes the market town and is a symbol of the high quality of life in Neumarkt an der Ibbs,” she told presenter Daniel Müller in an interview. Neumarkt is a market town in the Melk district with approximately 2,150 inhabitants, located before the Ibbs river flows into the Danube. The neighborhood is served by the Western Autobahn A 1, the State Road B 1 Wiener Straße and the Western Railway.
