Poor Alain Berset… Criticized, even outright compared to Adolf Hitler during the numerous demonstrations hostile to the extension of the Covid-19 Law last fall, the Federal Councilor in charge of the Department of the Interior has once once more suffered criticism during a demonstration by opponents of AVS21, this Saturday in Neuchâtel. And to say that the Fribourgeois is the favorite “minister” of the Swiss, according to several polls…
Accepted last December by the Federal Chambers, AVS21 provides, in particular, for an identical retirement age for men and women, i.e. 65 years. This decision confirmed the deep cleavage between left and right parties and associations. The former have thus called for a referendum to be signed so that the people can have the last word on the question.
At the instigation of the collective of “La Grève pour l’Avenir”, this second Saturday of February was therefore marked by the return of so-called “political” rallies. From Neuchâtel station to the city center, a procession made up of some 150 people, the majority of whom are women and retirees, has reached the heart of the city. All in good humor and… in song: “Berset, if you knew, your reform, your reform, Berset, if you knew, your reform where we put it”. A melody and hostile slogans but whose tone never exceeded the limit of propriety. The ears of the Socialist Federal Councilor in charge of health therefore whistled but never bled.
