A piece of wood in a pack with stir-fried vegetables triggers disgust in a net customer. The supermarket reacts to the customer’s complaint – quite relaxed.

Munich ‒ Customers in grocery stores regularly find things in products that don’t belong there. Chicken wings in a sugar and cinnamon baking mix at Kaufland, mold stains in cream cheese at the supermarket Edeka or worms in breakfast salmon at Netto. The list could be extended by a number of finds. Another Netto customer has now discovered something in a pack of vegetables that didn’t leave her speechless, but thoroughly spoiled her appetite.

The net customer published the picture of her find on Facebook and wrote: “Hello net, how is it that such a large piece of wood is ‘produced’ in the production of pan-fried vegetables?” The customer seemed serious about her request to be net. Not only did she share three pictures of her disgusting find and a picture of the original packaging on Facebook, but she also gave the item’s batch number.

Her subsequent comment can also be understood by others: “Unfortunately, I lost my appetite because I don’t know where it came from and whether there aren’t any other small pieces of wood in there. Something like that is not harmless.” She asked Netto for a statement and an urgent examination of the batch.
