First accessible to everyone, the spatial audio option, launched in July 2022, is now reserved for subscribers to the Premium offer.
As Netflix slowly moves towards ending account sharing, the platform continues to make changes. One of the last concerns the spatial audio option. Launched in July 2022 for all users, this tool is now only accessible to subscribers to the Premium offer, available for €17.99 per month.
Spatial audio allows movie and series fans to enjoy an immersive sound experience similar to that of a movie theater. On its official websitethe streaming giant specifies that the option “optimizes stereo sound without the need for surround speakers or home theater equipment and is compatible with all devices.”
Please note that spatial audio is not compatible with all titles. In total, 700 films and series are concerned. Just find the logo on the description page of the program of your choice. To make sorting easier, a simple search for “spatial audio” lists all works affected by this option.
This paid feature is in addition to the many changes made by the Netflix platform for several months, following the launch of subscriptions with in November 2022 and the end of password sharing, which should be implemented soon. .
