Peyton, Brooke and Rachel back?

Also according to Variety, Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton are expected to star in the sequel and return to their leading roles, while Danneel Ackles is reportedly in talks to do the same. As a reminder, Hilarie Burton played the role of Peyton Sawyer while Sophia Bush played that of Brooke Davis. Danneel Ackles (formerly Danneel Harris), played the character of Rachel Gatina.

One Tree Hill (or “One Tree Hill” for fans of the original version) aired for 9 seasons on the WB, then on the CW. The series was set in the fictional town of Tree Hill, North Carolina, and originally focused on the rivalry between stepbrothers Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan (James Lafferty). As their lives began to intertwine and their love of basketball united them, the drama evolved, emphasizing friendship, romance, and family.

Alongside Bethany Joy Lenz (Haley James Scott), Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton have since co-hosted the One Tree Hill rerun podcast, “Drama Queens.” However, the latter stepped away from the project after season 6 as her character was no longer on the show. Robert Buckley, who joined the show in season 7 as Clay Evans, is now the podcast’s third host.

As for Mark Schwahn, the original creator of the series, he will have no involvement in the sequel. In 2017, he was publicly accused of assault and harassment by Hilarie Burton and a number of members of the cast and crew.

While we wait to find out more, all 9 seasons of One Tree Hill can be watched again in streaming on Prime Video.
