A Netflix is the current leader in the market share the streaming platforms in Brazil. This is what the survey carried out by the JustWatchwhich showed the company with 27% market share no fourth quarter of 2023. In other words, there is a 9 percentage point advantage over second place.
This second position, in fact, is occupied by Prime Video, with 18% market share. Furthermore, we have services like Star+ (20%) and Disney+ (12%) and, if we take both into account together, since they are part of the same owner, they would have a higher number than that achieved by the Amazon service.
The other platforms in the survey also include HBO Max (14%), Globoplay (10%) and Apple TV+ (6%). Back to Netflix, it ended up recording a small reduction in its number of users in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. In this sense, the drop was 3%.
Disney+ and Prime Video also experienced the same decline and lost 2% of their number of subscribers. Meanwhile, Star+, Globoplay and Apple TV+ saw increases in their users of 3%, 2% and 1%, respectively. This survey was carried out based on a JustWatch app that helps you find series and films.
This tool can measure interest through clicks on a streaming service, as well as adding productions to the watchlist and using filters to see productions from just a few streams.
