A Netflix is adding a new feature to its iOS and Android apps, as well as another one aimed at the streaming service’s interface on televisions. These are simple additions, but they should allow users to deal better with the almost infinite catalog of the platform.
The first one is a reformulation of the function “My list”, where you can save movies and series to watch later. The problem, as we know, is that it’s quite common to add everything we see ahead of us, leaving the section a little crowded — which is more of a hindrance than a help in choosing what to watch.
Thus, Netflix added the possibility of filtering saved productions according to different criteria. It is possible, for example, to filter between productions that were half released or between those that have yet to be started, as well as organize the list in alphabetical order, by date of premiere or addition.
To delete titles from the list, now just drag an item to the left — a change that should save users a lot of time. Until then, to remove a movie or series from the section, it was necessary to go to the production page.
Changes to the My List feature are coming to Android first and will roll out to the Netflix iOS app in the coming weeks. According to TechCrunchwe shouldn’t see them on TVs, though.
The other novelty is the creation of the section “Shortly” in streaming service apps for TVs. The idea is basically to show movies and series that will premiere in the near future, with the possibility of creating reminders for when they become available.
