Now guaranteed to be broadcast on Netflix, season 2 has been validated, the announcement even being accompanied by a short trailer.
All’s well that ends well for the phenomenal series from the end of last year. Jenna Ortega and her classmates from Nervermore Academy finally saw their broadcaster validate the second season, without much surprise. Indeed, following rumors of platform changes linked to rights holders, MGM studios having been bought by Amazon, things have become clearer. The agreement signed with Netflix being earlier, nothing can call it into question. A relief for the (very) many fans of Wednesday Addamsdont the beginnings were thunderous. At the end of last December, Tim Burton’s series had more than a billion hours watched on the clock, just a stone’s throw from season 4 of Stranger Things.
A brilliant teaser
By the time its second season comes out, Wednesday may manage to catch up with the kids from the Upside Down. But in the meantime, the announcement of the continuation of the adventures of the young girl took the form of a very skilful teaser, mixing images of the series and the reception of the public. Even better, the video takes up some of the highlights of Wednesday on the Internet. Jenna Ortega declares, in the skin of her character, to have been imitated by millions of fans with her macabre dance, a torture according to her. Before smiling mischievously and launching a sincere thank you. Another funny element, the music of Lady Gaga accompanying the video is inspired by that of a fan who imitated Wednesday.
A Distant Wednesday
This announcement, as clever as expected, delighted the spectators, but they will however have to be patient. The sequel being only at the beginning of its production, it should not arrive on Netflix before 2024. It is therefore only next year that we will be able to discover what awaits the student investigator, how her relations friendly (or not) will evolve, and what new threats will arise once morest it. Building on the foundations laid by its first season, the series might do even better, like its rival Stranger Thingswhich experienced a crescendo as it developed.
