Netflix announces a release date for its Resident Evil series

The series will be available on July 14 on the streaming platform.

Among the most adapted video game series on the big screen, Resident Evil will soon be entitled to a new full reboot, this time in the form of a live-action series on Netflix. An ambitious project, which contrasts radically with the last two adaptations of the game on the big and small screen. We remember that a film narrating the events of the first two games was released on our screens in 2021. A rather mediocre animated film was also released on Netflix the same year.

This time, however, Netflix is talking regarding a very different project. The series will take place 14 years following the events narrated in the first games, in the year 2036. A deadly virus has caused the collapse of society. Jade Wesker, the daughter of Albert Wesker, will try to survive a world where the infected now outnumber humans.

The scenario has something to phase fans of the franchise. However, we cannot blame Netflix for not daring to do something new with this project.

No big name associated with the project, but a fine line-up of more or less well-known actors, including Lance Reddick, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Paola Nuñez, Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti and Turlough Convery.

It will be necessary to be patient before discovering the first trailer. A first poster of the series has however been revealed.
