WELCOME to the celebration of National Film Day 2024 which will be celebrated on March 30, the streaming platform Netflix has added to their catalog list with eight new film titles that have been shown in cinemas. The eight new titles are Characteristics, Falling in Love Like in the Films, 172 Days, 13 Bombs in Jakarta, Ali Typhoon, Body Bath, Bloody Train, and Torture of Hell.
The eight films will be shown in the 190 countries where Netflix operates. Netflix Indonesia head of content Rusli Eddy said that within a year they are committed to presenting 52 Indonesian content on their platform.
“We want to celebrate National Film Day. For Netflix, this is a precious moment and shows our commitment to Indonesian cinema. Last month we also announced our slate at Next On Netflix which collaborates with many creators. This year, we continue our collaboration with the Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival (JAFF) festival,” said Netflix Indonesia content head Rusli Eddy at the National Film Day press conference with Netflix Indonesia at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Cikini, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, (27/3/2024 ).
In celebration of National Film Day, Netflix in collaboration with JAFF also held a short course related to legal and administrative aspects of film production. The short course is divided into four sessions, starting from music licensing, contracts, accounting reports, to preparing film production reports.
“This is also our commitment to improve quality by investing to increase the capacity of those working in this industry. Apart from that, this provides an opportunity for those who want to break into film but haven’t had the opportunity, so they can get new opportunities. We will hold training throughout the year. This is new the first this year,” explained Netflix Southeast Asia public policy director Ruben Hattari. (Z-2)
