Netanyahu’s statement came after Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi said during a visit to the Northern Command, during which he reviewed the offensive and defensive plans for the front with the north, that the movement of the Lebanese factions would pay a “heavy price.”
For his part, the Israeli army spokesman stated: “We are determined to create the security conditions that will return the residents to their homes. We are prepared to do whatever is necessary to achieve this.”
“We have a lot of capabilities that we haven’t done yet,” he added. “We are making these plans for the future. Every time we work at a certain point, the next two steps are already ready to move forward forcefully. The price for the Lebanese factions must be high.”
Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said, commenting on the radio bombings in Lebanon, that “Israel is at the beginning of a new phase in the war.”
Yesterday, Wednesday, the Lebanese factions movement was exposed to a second wave of an Israeli cyber attack, which targeted wireless communication devices in the possession of some members of the Lebanese factions, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries.
Radio explosions were repeated today, during the funeral of a number of those killed in Tuesday’s attack, which left 12 dead and nearly 2,800 injured, while a preliminary toll for yesterday’s attacks reported 9 dead and more than 300 injured.
The Lebanese News Agency reported that a number of ICOM wireless devices exploded yesterday in the hands of their carriers and inside homes, causing fires, while yesterday’s attack targeted pager devices.
