Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, announced the dissolution of the War Cabinet, an institution created after the Hamas’s invasion of its territory on October 7 last year and which unleashed a new episode in his country’s historic conflict with Palestine.
The medium Ynet highlighted a statement issued by the Israeli government which detailed that: “Eight and a half months after October 7, the Prime Minister announced the dissolution of the Cabinet created on the initiative of (Minister without Portfolio Benny) Gantz”.
Last week, Gantz left Israel’s War Cabinet, which included himself, three other officials and three observers.
Israeli media reported that his departure was due to political disagreements with Netanyahu.
The official was reportedly upset after the government failed to comply with the terms of his ultimatum a few weeks ago, which revolved around presenting new action plans in the Gaza Strip.
In the midst of the conflict, Netanyahu authorized the mobilization of 50,000 extra reservists earlier this month to increase the group already consolidated on the northern border with Lebanon. Since the war with Hamas began in October, Israel has mobilized nearly 300,000 army personnel.
