Nestlé celebrates 30 years of local manufacturing in Morocco

The Nestlé factory in El Jadida has just celebrated its 30th anniversary. The group wanted to mark the event. It is the celebration of three decades of commitment and efforts made by Nestlé Morocco in terms of investment, innovation and job creation that have enabled the group to position itself as a major player in the dairy sector and of the production of soluble coffee in Morocco, as the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, pointed out. This presence anchored in the Kingdom, continues the Minister, attests to the attractiveness and competitiveness of Morocco as a destination, the great potential of the agro-food industry and the quality of our human resources.

Nestlé Maroc, he notes, is in line with the priorities of the sector in terms of promoting local manufacturing and strengthening integration between the upstream and downstream of the sector. Which further contributes to the food security and industrial sovereignty of our country.

The group produces locally, in fact, international brands that perfectly meet the needs of Moroccan consumers. “I would like to remind you that we export 80% of the coffee products that we manufacture from our factory in El Jadida to markets such as Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt, among other countries in the Middle East and North Africa. noted in this regard the general manager of Nestlé Morocco, Imane Zaoui.

Inaugurated in 1992, the factory produces different ranges of coffee, enriched whole milk powder and growing-up milk. All these products are aligned with the strictest safety and quality standards, in accordance with the standards set by international certification bodies.

Also certified for its environmental management, the plant has successfully achieved zero waste and hosted the city’s first solar power plant in 2021. The facility alone produces 1.7 GWh of electricity per year from a 7,000 m2 site, housing nearly 2,600 photovoltaic panels.
