The presence of the NEP children was also impressive during the second and last day of the “2nd Acropolis Junior 2024” held at the indoor swimming pool of OAKA on the two days of May 11-12.
During the morning session two bronze medals were won (one in the individual competitions and one in the team) and during the followingnoon competition NEP celebrated another 4 medals (one gold, one silver and two bronze, one of them in the team). In detail in the morning Markos Papadopoulos (K12) in the 100m. freestyle was 3rd with a time of 01:05.33 and the 6x50m relay. freestyle (KOR10-11-12) consisting of Danai Kolia, Anna Vasiliki Kantzari, Vikentia Tsagri, Georgia-Elene Skepetari, Vasiliki Zafeiropoulou and Dimitra Konstadatou also 3rd with a time of 03:24.14. Also, the 4th place was won by Danai Kolia (K10) in the 100m. freestyle and 5th places in the same event by Anna-Vasiliki Kantzaris (K10), Vasiliki Zafeiropoulou (K12), Andreas Kotsavitis (K12) and by Dimitra Konstadatou (K12) in the 200m. backstroke. In the followingnoon the medals came as follows: Gold from Andreas Kotsavitis (K12) in the 100m. butterfly with a time of 01:07.71, silver from Dimitra Konstadatou (K12) in the same event with 01:14.83, bronze from Vasiliki Zafeiropoulou (K12) in the 200m. MA with a time of 02:50.54 and a bronze medal in the 4x50m relay. M.O. Mixed (K10) with Danai Kolias, Anna-Vasiliki Kantzaris, Georgios Evagelatos, Pavlos Datseris. Also, the 5th place of Danai Kolia (K10) in the 200m was celebrated. MA and the 7th place from Vikentia Tsagri (K11) at 50m. backstroke. And the rest of the kids had a significant presence, they improved their individual times and showed that with work comes results.
In total, in the final tally, NEP got 13 medals (two gold, three silver, eight bronze) and with the score from all the events, they won the very important 4th place in the total of 52 rated teams! The management of NEP congratulated all the children and of course their coach Lina Mastropasqua, for this huge success of theirs! “We are truly proud and optimistic that your future is set to be bright!”, reads the relevant announcement.
