NEOS support the Federal Environment Agency remaining in Vienna

Bernhard/Gara: “Fortunately, the years of uncertainty are over.”

Vienna (OTS) NEOS climate and environment spokesman Michael Bernhard is pleased that the political pressure has paid off and the planned relocation of the Federal Environment Agency from Vienna to Klosterneuburg is now finally off the table.

“The move planned under Black and Blue remains a prime example of political arbitrariness: a move to Klosterneuburg, which is directly adjacent to Vienna, would have massively increased commuter traffic to the suburbs, but would certainly not have strengthened the rural area. It’s good that the ÖVP Lower Austria didn’t get away with their desires for once.”

Now we need to quickly find a permanent new location in Vienna. “Vienna is the optimal solution for employees, the environment and taxpayers.”

“I am happy that this will further strengthen the city’s science and business location,” adds NEOS Vienna climate spokesman Stefan Gara.
