Hoyos: “ÖVP and Greens should show new honesty and admit that they are finished.”
Vienna (OTS) – “No member of the government has ever admitted as openly as Alma Zadić that this government is no longer working, only blocking, arguing and serving the time until the next election,” says NEOS Secretary General Douglas Hoyos today Press conference. “The fairy tale of ‘the best of both worlds’ has turned into a permanent standstill. Austria cannot afford that.”
According to Hoyos, nothing is going on, not only in the judiciary. “And both parties in government bear the blame for this deadlock. The ÖVP and the Greens are urgently called upon to show a new level of honesty and to say: ‘We’re at the end.’ There are so many construction sites, so much urgent need for reform, so much to do. In view of the numerous challenges from climate change to our security to inflation and the shortage of staff, there is no time to lose. New elections seem the only way out. More and more people are missing solutions and are asking themselves: what are we waiting for?”
