Al-Jubeir said that construction work is continuing while he is speaking, indicating that the Kingdom’s projects are in full swing.
He also made it clear that the city of NEOM and “The Line” is real, explaining that they are transformative projects that the world has not seen, and will radically and revolutionary change the way people see cities and urban planning.
He emphasized that these projects are out-of-the-box ideas that have not been tried before, saying, “They are under construction as we speak.”
Environmentally friendly
He also followed that they are two economically viable projects, saying: “Of course they are, otherwise we would not have taken them seriously. We do not know that we are naive. We are known for being rational and thinking for the long term, and this is a long-term project and it is a very ambitious and transformative project not only for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” Saudi Arabia, but for urban life in general.
Al-Jubeir stressed that it is an attempt to create an environmentally friendly and sustainable city with a high standard of living, pointing out that there will be no traffic congestion so that one can go to different areas efficiently and without the use of cars.
He said, “There are no cars. There will be other means of transportation, as I said, that are environmentally friendly and dependent on renewable energy.”
It is noteworthy that the city of “The Line” in Neum will be only 200 meters wide, 170 km long, and 500 meters above sea level.
