Nelson Piquet X Lewis Hamilton: Brazilian is convicted of racist comment

Justice took a decision yesterday (24) that disfavors former Formula 1 driver Nelson Piquet. He can still appeal

It went bad! Former Brazilian formula 1 driver Nelson Piquet was sentenced by the Federal District Court of Justice (TJDFT) to pay R$ 5 million in compensation for racist and homophobic comments directed at fellow Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton.

The decision was published yesterday (24) and Nelson Piquet can still appeal. The unfortunate statement was made in November 2021 during an interview in which the former driver spoke about an accident between Hamilton and driver Max Verstappen at the British Grand Prix of that year in question. “The little nigger [Lewis Hamilton] put the car and did not leave [desviar]. O [Ayrton] Senna didn’t do that. Senna left straight. The little guy put the car in and didn’t let [Verstappen desviar]. The little guy left the car because there was no way for 2 cars to pass on that curve. He did it as a joke”, he developed.
