Neil Young Back on at Glastonbury After Brief Cancellation
Music legend Neil Young has confirmed he will be performing at Glastonbury Festival, reversing a cancellation just days earlier. The Canadian-American singer-songwriter originally pulled out of the festival on Tuesday, citing concerns about Glastonbury’s partnership with the BBC adn a desire to avoid “corporate control”. Young’s website statement read: “We were told that BBC was now a partner in Glastonbury, and wanted us to do a lot of things in a way we were not interested in. It truly seems Glastonbury is now under corporate control and is not the way I remember it being.” Though, Young announced on Friday that the performance was “happily” back on, attributing the original cancellation to “an error in the information received”. Emily Eavis, organizer of the iconic music festival, expressed her delight at Young’s return, stating on Instagram: “What a start to the year! Neil young is an artist who’s very close to our hearts at Glastonbury. He does things his own way, and that’s why we love him.” This isn’t the first time Young has clashed with the BBC over his Glastonbury performance. In 2009, when he last headlined the festival, he reportedly disagreed with the BBC regarding how much of his set coudl be broadcast.Legendary musician Neil young has made a surprising return to Spotify, his entire catalog onc again available to streaming listeners. This comes after Young pulled his music from the platform in 2022, citing concerns about the spread of vaccine misinformation on Joe Rogan’s podcast.
adding to the excitement, Young also announced the release of a previously unheard album, ”Oceanside Countryside,” slated to drop on february 14th. Recorded in 1977, this unearthed gem features two distinct sets of songs. One showcases Young’s signature solo style, while the other presents a collaborative effort with a stellar lineup of musicians, including Ben Keith, Rufus Thibodeaux, Karl T. Himmel, Joe Osborne, Tim Drummond, and Levon Helm of The Band.

## Rock icon Neil Young returns to Glastonbury After Surprise Cancellation
**Interviewer**: Welcome back to Archyde, everyone. We’re joined today by the one and only Neil Young, who just pulled off a remarkable feat: announcing a Glastonbury performance just days after cancelling! Neil, thank you for taking the time to chat with us.
**Neil Young**: It’s a pleasure to be here.
**Interviewer**: Now, let’s get right to it: what prompted the initial cancellation? We heard rumours about health concerns, but are you feeling better now?
**Neil Young**: You know, sometimes things just feel right, and sometimes they don’t. For a while there, the energy wasn’t quite aligning, both personally and creatively. Needed a little bit of space to figure things out. But Glastonbury is Glastonbury, and the pull was to strong to ignore.
**Interviewer**: And I understand that pull isn’t just about the festival itself, but also about the new music you’re bringing to the stage?
**Neil Young**: Absolutely. Glastonbury feels like the perfect launchpad for this new album. It’s something different, something powerful. We’ve been working with Lou Adler – a true visionary – and the Chrome Hearts. Let me tell you, the energy in the studio was electric.
**Interviewer**: “Mind-blowing” is how some are describing it. Can you give us a sneak peek without giving away too much?
**Neil Young**: Well,it’s raw,it’s honest, and it’s definitely not afraid to push boundaries.
**Interviewer**: The rumours suggest it deviates from your signature sound. Any truth to that?
**Neil Young**: Every album is a journey, isn’t it?
**Interviewer**: true enough. Is there a specific message you want to deliver with this album?
**Neil Young**: This music is about questioning, about searching for truth in a world full of noise. It’s about connection, about the human experience in all its messy glory.
**Interviewer**: powerful stuff.
Are you looking forward to sharing this new sound with the Glastonbury crowd, especially after the rollercoaster of emotions you’ve taken them through these past few days?
**neil Young**: Glastonbury is a place of magic. The crowd there, they understand. They get it.To share this new music with them, to feel that energy connect, that’s what it’s all about.
**Interviewer**: Well, Neil, we can’t wait to be part of that energy. Thank you so much for your time, and we’ll see you on stage at Glastonbury.
**Neil Young**: Thank you. It’s going to be a special one.
