In the community there are 21 houses directly affected; the neighbors no longer have easy access to their homes, they are exposed to diseases, snail invasion, sewage outbreaks and the accumulation of garbage.
With the start of the rainy season, the gully located between the Villa Nara and Villa Caruso sectors in Puerto Ordaz has given way, a situation that affects more than 200 families.
María Pacheco, affected neighbor, declared to scoop that for 15 days the landslides have increased and that it affects the families.
”The situation has turned into chaos; with the rain, the gully has worsened, it is destroying our homes,” he declared.
Pacheco maintained that 21 houses are directly affected; the neighbors no longer have easy access to their homes, they are exposed to diseases, snail invasion, sewage outbreaks and the accumulation of garbage.
Possible solutions
The affected informed that they have sent letters to the competent entities; They have visited the place, talk to the neighbors, inspect the area, but everything remains there. They have not provided solutions.
He stressed that they have already visited the site for the first time; they removed the rot, uncovered the first gully, they’ve brought in the backhoe, but it’s not enough.
Thanks to the initiative of the neighbors, they were able to search Upata for tubes donated by Hidrobolívar for repairs, but they were unable to do anything. Also that there are the materials to solve this problem: cement, pipes and earth, but they must be solved by professionals.
“It is not fair that in a house in the sector it is already impossible to leave,” he stressed.
Called the authorities
Neighbors of the community call on the Caroní Mayor’s Office and the Bolívar State Governor’s Office to be present at the site, since they fear they will lose their homes, contract diseases and the odors are getting stronger.
