“Neighborhood Babysitters”: 500 euros to grandmothers or grandfathers who look after their grandchildren – The conditions

The “Neighborhood Babysitters” program, which has been launched and hundreds of applications have already been made by parents, now also concerns grandparents who take care of their grandchildren.

In particular, all natural persons who meet the conditions for inclusion in the program can be registered in the guardian register, which means that parents’ relatives can also become “Neighborhood Babysitters”.

So, everyone can participate in this program, as long as they have a high school diploma and attend an educational seminar, by submitting an invitation to express interest on the ntantades.gov.gr platform

Grandparents who can attend the online training in order to be certified can join the care register, continue to take care of their grandchildren and be paid 500 euros, as ERT broadcasts.

It is emphasized that mothers and fathers, natural, adoptive or foster parents who work either in the public or private sector (and self-employed and freelancers) have the right to participate in the program. As well as unemployed mothers, natural, adoptive or foster mothers who are registered in the DYPA registers.

The annual individual income of the interested parties must not exceed the amount of 24,000 euros and they must not be on maternity or paternity leave or child-rearing leave. And of course the residence address of the beneficiaries must be within the municipalities participating in the pilot implementation of the action.
