There are currently two versions of hope in the Austrian Chancellery. Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) traveled to Belgrade on Wednesday to sign a “Memorandum of Understanding” with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. It includes joint measures for border protection and against migration. Or as Nehammer calls it: It is a step towards ending “asylum à la carte”.
