A few hours following the meeting MLB withdrew its proposal in which it requested the Labor union control the size of the roster minor leagues, with the aim of reducing the number of players a team can have. The League also withdrew a proposal to limit to 5 the number of times a player can return to minor leagues in a season.

While the points MLB has given up on have been minimal, it’s a good sign that Tony Clark and a larger group of owners and players have agreed to meet constantly and for much longer starting Monday.
