Days before his inauguration, the mayor of Cipolletti Rodrigo Buteler decided to “cut off” several municipal employees hired by the Executive Branch. The annual expiration of that contractual agreement allows you to unilaterally terminate the relationship. ANDLast Thursday, several employees warned regarding the new management’s decision to cut contracts in some areas such as Human Development, Culture, Traffic and Legal, among others.

Buteler’s response was very concise: eThe Executive Branch has the power to extend the link or not and in this period of “austerity” –as he defined in his opening speech- he defined that many employees will not continue in the municipality. What is discussed in these cases is the seniority and role of the people who will leave their jobs. From the unions they assure that many were in a position to enter a permanent plant.

Faced with this scenario, all municipal unions requested a hearing with the lawyer to find out the reasons. In addition, it will serve as the first contact between the union members and the new mayor who will have a complex year of negotiation ahead of him. In principle, due to his decision to lower public spending and the economic crisis that the country is suffering.

“It is not the first conflict, there is still no conflict. We are going to summon the unions to talk, dialogue will always be a priority”; The mayor told DIARIO RIO NEGRO that yesterday he had his first working day at the head of the Executive.

UCPN was the first to raise its hand and sent a note to the Executive Branch and the Deliberative Council. Not only because of the cutting of contracts, but also because of the “austere” speech that Buteler gave on Saturday morning at the Círculo Italiano.

“It all started on Thursday with the non-continuity of many contracts and continued this Monday. In parallel to the announcements at the inauguration ceremony with the emergency declaration project. We view both issues with great concern, mainly due to the casualties. This Monday, a lot of people approached the institution to request representation,” said Marcelino Jara, Soyem delegate. The rest of the unions also joined the claim: ATE, UPCN and Sitramuci.

Jara assured that many workers have many years of seniority and many others with satisfactory performance in their daily tasks. He even assured that several of them were in a position to move to a permanent staff. “First we want to listen to the arguments of the Executive, and then we will analyze how to continue.”

It is not clear how many people were left without work, but in principle it would be more than 100.

Buteler also announced that they continue working to define the organizational project to reconfigure the organizational chart.. It is known that there will be three fewer secretariats and that the political staff will be reduced by approximately 40%.
