Neglected Monuments and City Issues: Uncovering the Untold Stories of Fontanka

The city news site Fontanka would do better to pay more attention to the problems of its city.

Our own monuments suffer no less and are in fact neglected, left to the mercy of hordes of local and visiting primates.
Beglukha obviously has neither the money nor the desire to organize their satisfactory protection.

Griffins are being scratched on the Bankovsky Bridge, sphinxes are being painted on the Egyptian Bridge, the fingers of the Atlanteans in the New Hermitage have been bitten off, the camel on the Przhevalsky monument in the Alexander Garden has become a standard seat for gibbons and macaques of all stripes.
Like the lions in front of the Admiralty.

This is what I saw with my own eyes.

After the last Scarlet Pants, granite paving on Palace Square suffered. A thick granite slab near the Alexander Column has split in half, apparently due to the fact that heavy vehicles are now driving around there, involved in the preparation of endless booths.
I’m not talking about paving stones – it’s all bald.
