Al-Ahly players, Mohamed Sherif and Mohamed Magdy Afsha, took a break from the training that was held this evening at Mukhtar Al-Teach Stadium, according to the duo’s qualifying program.
The qualifying program includes the duo’s participation in parts of group training, in order to prepare them for a full return to training.
The duo had missed participating with Al-Ahmar at the end of last season, due to injury, in addition to the rest period that the main players obtained by a decision of Al-Ahly’s board of directors headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib.
Afsha underwent a rehabilitation program in the last period, following he underwent a “hernia in the abdominal wall” operation in a hospital in 6th of October City.
While Muhammad Sharif implemented a rehabilitation program, following suffering an injury to the connective muscle, and the recent period witnessed a significant improvement in the duo’s condition, according to the statements of team doctor Ahmed Abu Abla.
The head of Al-Ahly’s medical apparatus confirmed that Sharif and Afsha’s condition is reassuring from a medical point of view, and that they have received a rest today, provided that they return tomorrow to participate in the training and be fully assured of their readiness.
It is noteworthy that Al-Ahly will play three friendly matches during the preparation period, starting with the confrontation with Petrojet on September 21, then meeting with Aswan on September 25, and finally facing the Vanguard of the Army team on September 29.
