Between August and December, the FPS Finances sent 5,578,796 tax notices in the context of personal income tax, it announced on Thursday. This means that 73% of the statements (out of a total of 7.6 million) have been sent, although the legal deadline is June 30, 2024.
“The large number of simplified declaration proposals (3.9 million) and the growing number of Tax-on-web users (3.4 million), combined with an increasingly reduced number of paper declarations (264,000 ), allow rapid processing”, explains the Federal Public Service.
Of the 5.6 million statements already known, 2.92 million provide for a reimbursement to the taxpayer for a total amount of 3.9 billion euros, 1.78 million require a total payment of 2.9 billion and a little more of one million show a zero balance.
