The Consumer Electronics Show, an international meeting place for fans of new technologies, opens its doors this Thursday in Las Vegas. And among the 2,000 exhibitors, 200 French start-ups will present their innovations to nearly 100,000 visitors.
behind the United States who play at home, France will be by far the country which will present the most young nuggets at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), a major annual event devoted to technological innovation. The doors of the traditional Las Vegas show will open on Thursday and nearly 100,000 visitors are expected, twice as many as last year. Among the 2,000 exhibitors, 200 start-up tricolores will be present. Among the most represented themes: health, green mobility, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
An important step to “progress quickly”
Coming to CES is not just to show off, it’s an important step, explains Éric Morand, director of the events department at Business France, a structure that supports French companies in their international development strategy. “It accelerates them, it also challenges them. It’s the only place in the world where they will be able to confront so many opinions, so many remarks that will allow them to quickly progress their business and the solutions that will be marketed” , he explains.
This 2023 edition will be an opportunity to celebrate ten years of French Tech, this label now recognized outside our borders. No presence to amuse the gallery, this show must be that of business. French start-ups raised more than $13 billion in 2022, a record amount, although the pace slowed significantly at the end of the year.
