Two cases of dengue have been identified in Saint-Didier-au-Mont-d’Or, near Lyon (Rhône). A mosquito control operation is organized on Wednesday 7 September.

According Progressthe Rhône-Alpes Interdepartmental Mosquito Control Agreement (Eirad) will intervene in a suburban area of the town Wednesday, September 7, between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m..
To limit the presence of the tiger mosquitowhose population is rising sharply in the department, Eirad agents will broadcast l’insecticide in “a restricted perimeter”.
As a reminder, dengue is a viral disease whose symptoms are fever and joint pain. These occur on average 4 to 7 days following the mosquito bite, according to the Ministry of Health. Also known as “tropical flu”it is not transmitted between humans.
